The belief that all students can learn WVPTs 2B3; CAEP 1.1 |
All students can learn; all they need is a dedicated teacher. I feel I have the dedication, and knowledge to integrate every available resource ranging from teaching strategies, collaboration, and self-reflection practices. Teachers must always rely on every available and appropriate strategy and method to improve the overall experience of all students. Teachers must always have a positive and unbiased perspective of all students. |

Active contribution and collaboration in my professional learning community WVPTs 4A1, 4B1; CAEP 1.1 |
Collaboration exemplifies effective teaching practices. Teachers must collaborate to grow and improve. Teachers share important experiences, specific details about students so that others can adapt significantly improving students’ overall experience. Effective educators must self-reflect, and rely on peer feedback and other collaborative strategies to improve to provide the best possible learning experience to all students. |

Application of theory and research in daily practice and reflection. WVPTs 1A1, 1B1, 1B2, 1B3; CAEP 1.1 |
Self-reflection practices significantly help teachers improve and develop. Through reflection, teachers can employ the best strategies, and theories for their students. For instance, considering not all students learn the same, through self-reflection teachers can adapt to meet the needs of specific students. For visual learners, teachers can rely on technology integration to display videos and other multimedia resources. Considering teachers may be erroneous, it is important to self-reflect in order to improve teaching practices and the application of theory and research. |

Valuing, respecting, and promoting diversity WVPTs 2A1; CAEP 1.1 |
Diversity is epitomized within the modern classroom. It is the responsibility of all educators to adhere to the needs of diverse students. Culturally diverse, students with special needs, gifted and talented, and every possible diversity must be respected, treasured, as well as encouraged. It is the responsibility of all educators to exhaust every possible resource and strategy to offer all students the most appropriate and enriching educational experience. |

Skill in identifying and using community resources that enhance student success WVPTs 5F1, 5F2; CAEP 1.1 |
Collaboration takes place in different forms. Teachers must collaborate with other school professionals, students, as well as parents, and the school community. Teachers can employ community resources to improve the overall experience of all students. For instance, teachers can work with parents to recommend community resources such as the public library, free or low-cost tutoring, and mentoring services, often offered at the local college. Teachers take always take any appropriate measure to enhance student success. |

Social responsibility WVPTs 5F1, 5F2; CAEP 1.1 |
In the modern interconnected world, educators must use all available resources to promote an appropriate understanding of the world, and their communities. I believe that classroom tolerance and acceptance, accountability, and discipline can be integrated into a framework that the students can associate with what is to be a “good citizen” and an effective member of society. Teachers have the social responsibility to have good civic values. Teachers can influence students’ perspectives significantly. As such, teachers must always strive to promote positive, and socially acceptable behavior, it is our duty. |

Ethical practices WVPTs 51; CAEP 1.1 |
For teachers, ethical practice is the most important part of professional disposition. Teachers are held and should be, to the highest ethical standards. Teachers are role models, hundreds and oftentimes thousands of students look up to teachers and mimic their behavior. Therefore, a teacher’s unethical behavior can significantly affect the overall behavior and civic values of students. Ethical values intrinsically motivate me to always do the right thing even when difficult. |

The appropriate use of technology WVPTs 4A1; CAEP 1.1 |
Technology integration is one of the most important resources for the modern classroom. Technology has become indispensable. Technology serves to accommodate students with special needs, communicate with parents and staff members, adhere to students’ learning styles, and improve the overall learning experience of all students. |
As a potential educator, I have several goals in mind. My primary goal as a teacher is to impact the lives of many students through appropriate teaching strategies, self-reflection, and self-determination. I strongly believe in the philosophy that all students deserve an equal opportunity to succeed, that all students can develop their full potential with effective teaching strategies, support, and accommodations.
Teaching requires more than planning, content, and instructional knowledge, it requires a passion to teach, collaborate, and adapt. Teachers have the social and ethical responsibility to respect all students, promote cognitive growth, and take any appropriate step to support student growth and development.
Flexibility, planning, and collaboration are key to becoming an effective educator. Effective collaboration with parents, special education teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators, serves as one of the most effective tools for planning, and professional growth. Additionally, to offer students, the best possible educational experience, consistent collaboration needs to take place. Collaborating with parents provides educators with an insight into the students’ home life which may serve as an important tool for planning and delivery.
Collaboration also helps educators create an effective student-teacher relationship, which may significantly promote cognitive growth and classroom management. Furthermore, constant communication with parents, in addition to an IDEA requirement, is one of the most effective tools for educators. In the process of collaborating, and working towards the success of all students, educators may oftentimes need to self-reflect and adapt. Self-reflection creates an avenue for adaption and growth. Educators determine which approach is best for all students or whether the current approach is ineffective, and how to professionally improve for the benefit of all students.
Self-reflection strategies are fundamental to professional growth, as well as adaptability. Teachers need to adapt to address the needs of the various diversities evident throughout the modern, and inclusive classroom. Although on a typical day there is not much time to spare, self-reflection practices are very important for the overall improvement of educators. Considering that one approach may not fit all circumstances, and the reality that teachers may be wrong, self-reflecting practices may help improve the lessons, as well as the overall teaching and learning experience.
Considering all the available resources, teachers may take advantage of technology in order to meet the needs of all students. With technology educators, may enhance parental involvement, classroom management practices, and instructional support. With learning centers, educators may scaffold the lesson for students with special needs, and students culturally diverse. Furthermore, through technology educators can communicate with parents by email and other messaging services. For example, using applications such as ClassDojo teachers can enhance classroom management practices, while increasing parental involvement with ease. Ultimately, I am driven by the belief that all students can learn, and can achieve their full potential with support, and consistency.
